WHAT WE PLAYThe DGN Marching Baritones exclusively use the M571 Professional Marching Bb Baritone made by Dynasty USA. We have eight horns: two in yellow lacquer and six in gold lacquer. Features include: first valve throw slide, weather resistant all rubber fittings (more resistant than cork or felt), high dent and scratch resistance, and a dark, mellow sound.
Most members name their horn durring their first band camp. Names include: Barbra Ann, AKMF 4000, and Kari. |
OTHER COOL ACCESSORIES:
Lyre: Holds Flip Folder and music. Various shapes and sizes.
Flip Folder: plastic flip folder that holds music. A DGN saxophone player is featured on Wikipedia Marching Band entry demonstrating the use of a Flip folder and lyre.
Plastic Mouthpiece: some members elect to use a plastic mouthpiece for cold weather marching. This mouthpiece is cold resistant, and responds better in cold weather. While it is not used every game or rehearsal, it can be indispensable in the winter months. The most common is the Kelly 6 1/2 AL.
